Lead outdoor instructor

We are looking for a lead worker who holds a British Canoeing UKCC L2 Paddlesport minimum to supervise the day to day logistics of the centre and its resources. You will be a highly experienced outdoor professional with experience of managing small teams of staff and liaising with clients. This position is based at Thames Young Mariners and there is some staff accommodation available.

Salary: £18,313 for 1404.20 hours per annum (inclusive of 14% holiday entitlement), equating to £1500 approximately per month before deductions commencing March / April 2018.

Seasonal Bank staff (various locations)

We are looking for Instructors who are experienced in delivering high quality outdoor learning experiences. We require seasonal staff over a period of 4-6 months who hold a UKCC L1 Paddlesports or RYA DI as a minimum at Thames Young Mariners. Some staff accommodation available.

We also require other bank outdoor instructors across SOLD, offering various / substantial hours and opportunities.

Salary: £9.39 per hour + £1.32 leave allowance per hour = £10.71 per hour before deductions.

Work experience

Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development is committed to offering a range of high quality placement opportunities to young people and adults currently in education. The placements are well structured and designed to meet the specific learning outcomes of the individual, to support their areas of interest, complement their curriculum and develop the key competencies that will maximise their employability.

We will consider placements in the following areas:

  • Outdoor education worker - working beside our instructors, assisting in running outdoor activity sessions for our visitors.
  • Catering and domestic worker - assisting with preparation and serving of food and the cleaning of the residential facilities.
  • Maintenance worker - assisting in the grounds and general maintenance of the facilities.
