Thames Young Mariners Proposed Redevelopment

As you may be aware SOLD have been working on proposals to redevelop the Thames Young Mariners site to enhance the existing facilities and operations along with including new overnight accommodation to create a modern development which is fit for the future.

Since the public consultation in April 2022, the team have been working hard on refining the details of the scheme and providing the necessary technical assessments to support the full planning application submission.

The application was submitted earlier in October and is seeking full planning permission for:

Demolition of existing buildings and construction of replacement buildings with associated residential accommodation, changing block, replacement staff accommodation and outdoor activity equipment including high ropes, climbing wall, coasteering course, supporting pontoons with associated hard and soft landscaping and parking.

This project is driven by increasing the opportunity and participation in all year round outdoor learning experiences to improve the physical health, emotional well-being and social development of children, young people, vulnerable adults and families.

We can advise that the application is now live and currently under consideration by Richmond Council.
