We run courses for enthusiasts and professionals covering many aspects of the outdoors and related activities. Courses are endorsed by the relevant national governing body or professional Institution. They include both personal skill development and coaching courses, many of which are used in a school or voluntary sector environment.

Rescue Emergency Care (REC) First Aid Training (Level 2)

This is a very comprehensive practical two-day course that meets the HSE guidelines. The course outlines first aid for people who work remotely in the outdoors, where advanced medical aid is not nearby and evacuation may be required. However, the course is wholly appropriate for those who live and work in urban areas as well.

This course is recognised as appropriate training by various national governing bodies, including: RYA, BCU, MBLA, MLTUK, ML Summer and Winter Awards, Single Pitch Award, BOF and most others.

Rescue and Emergency Care is a HSE approved organisation that runs training courses for first aid instructors and validates courses for the HSE certificate.

CIEH Level 2 Food Safety in Catering

This popular qualification is required by any persons working in a catering environment where food is cooked and handled. This also includes group leaders taking groups on expeditions and delivering lessons or sessions where food is prepared and cooked.

The course will cover the importance of food safety, knowledge of systems and procedures involved, controlling risks and be to be confident in delivering food hygienically and safely. There are no pre-requisites to attend this course.

This is a one day course and assessment is by multiple choice paper at the end of the day. It is recommended that this qualification is refreshed every three years.

CIEH Level 3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering

The pre-requisite of this course is a basic understanding and knowledge of food hygiene and ideally the Level 2 in Food Safety.

This qualification has been developed to benefit anyone working in a supervisory position where food is prepared, cooked and served. It is relevant to all catering operations.

This is a three day course and assessment is by multiple choice paper on completion. It is recommended that this qualification is refreshed every three years.
