first aid
We run courses for enthusiasts and professionals covering many aspects of the outdoors and related activities. Courses are endorsed by the relevant national governing body or professional Institution.
They include both personal skill development and coaching courses, many of which are used in a school or voluntary sector environment.
First-aid courses
This is a very comprehensive practical two-day course that meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines. The course outlines first aid for people who work remotely in the outdoors, where advanced medical aid is not nearby and evacuation may be required. However, the course is wholly appropriate for those who live and work in urban areas as well.
This course is recognised as appropriate training by various national governing bodies, including: Royal Yatching Association (RYA), British Canoeing, MBLA, MLTUK, ML Summer and Winter Awards, Single Pitch Award, British Orienteering and most others.
Courses take place at the following locations:
- Thames Young Mariners, Richmond near London
- High Ashurst, Mickleham near Dorking
- Henley Fort, Guildford
