Lead Estates and Maintenance Operative
- £29,697 per annum pro rata based on 36-hour week
- Full-time
- Required to work across all the centres throughout the year.
About the role
This is an active role supporting the planned / reactive maintenance and grounds work at SOLD. Maintaining SOLD's buildings, accommodation including canvas, transport and grounds. This is a 'hands on' logistical role which will suit an individual, requiring both practical and coordinating skills.
This role requires updating and creating recording systems ensuring health and safety requirements and legislation are kept to a high standard.
This role will also require the person to lead maintenance tasks and projects with volunteers, groups and other staff around SOLD sites.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Experience in maintenance including carpentry, plumbing and decorating
- Experience in use of grounds maintenance equipment and gardening
- Experience of training others in practical skills and health and safety
- Supervising others in tasks and projects
- Working with individuals including young people with a range of needs and abilities
- Valid Driving licence
- Positive and solution focused
- Able to work using own initiative as often lone working
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- An enhanced DBS will be carried out during recruitment
